Shawn Patrick Leiter, age 42 of Weidman passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 with his loving family by his side at McLaren Bay Regional Hospital.

Shawn was born on December 21, 1976 to Patrick F and LuAnn (Pick) Leiter in Alma, MI. He attended Chippewa Hills Schools and graduated with the class of 1995. He graduated from ITT Tech in 2006 with an associate's degree. Shawn was employed by US Marble as a Laborer. Shawn enjoyed playing horseshoes, watching sports on TV; especially U of M and the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with family and friends. Spending time outside with the kids was a favorite pastime for Shawn. He attended Weidman Baptist Church.

Shawn is survived by his parents, Patrick and LuAnn; son, Dustin; sisters, Abby (Dan Maney) Sellers, and Kristy (Ron) Wood; nephews/nieces, Brock, Courtlyn, Peyton, Jaydin, Mackenna, Gunnar, Gavin and Mia; uncles/aunts, Steve Leiter, Vicki Leiter, Paul Leiter, Becky (Steve) Callison, Joe Leiter, Deb (Greg) Peffer, Juliann (Dave) McClung, Joanne (Jim) Hulett, and John (Sharon) Pick; and many great uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Special friends, Kristen, Arica, and Geoff.

Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Sally Pick and Freeman and Muriel Leiter; uncles, Dan Leiter, Mike Leiter, Mark Pick and cousin Tim Reynolds.

A Memorial Service for Shawn will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Weidman Baptist Church with Pastor Dean Willard officiating. Visiting with the family will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at the church.

Memorial donations in Shawn's memory may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the church.
