Shelly McQueen, 56, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at home with her family by her side. Shelly was born November 28, 1965, in Carmi, Illinois, daughter of the late Sheldon R. and Deloris (Wilson) Williams. She married Richard McQueen May 18, 1985, in Shepherd. She worked as a teacher at Morey Charter School in Winn and prior to that she worked at Shady Grove Elementary in Laurel, Mississippi. Shelly will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and teacher who absolutely adored her grandson. She leaves behind her husband, Richard; two sons, Rocky (Laura) McQueen of Remus and Robby McQueen (Ali Artecki) of Mt. Pleasant; grandson, Rocky McQueen Jr.; and brother, Roy Williams of Mississippi. Shelly's memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, February 28, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Ronald Lance officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
