Stanley M. Luikis, 88, of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday, April 20, 2002 at Country Place Senior Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-5 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 2:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Stanley was born July 25, 1914, in Chicago, IL, the son of Ignatius and Agota (Jakabauskas) Luikis. He married Stella Wilnis on April 10, 1937, at All Saints Church in Chicago. He spent 25 years working at Dow Chemical. He retired in 1977. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the American Legion. Stanley is survived by his two daughters, Margaret (Olney) Craft of Shavertown, PA and Linda (Peter) Baker of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren, Mary (Mark) Estes of Perkasie, PA and Benjamin and Joseph Baker of Columbus; two great granddaughters, Cortney and Corinne Estes of Perkasie; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella in 1995; and his brother, Walter Luikis.
