Steven Faber, 73, of Beal City, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida. Steve was born September 11, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Walter and Eileen (Torpey) Faber. Steve graduated from Beal City High School, class of 1966. Steve was a part of the 11 th Armored Calvary in the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam from 1969 – 1971. Upon returning to the United States, he married Patricia Lobsinger on September 23, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Together they raised their two sons in Beal City. Steve Owned and Operated Faber Electric for over 30 years in Beal City. He was known as a guy that would give the shirt off his back and helped mentor many young apprentices in the electrical field. Steve liked old cars and was a member of the Pixie Cruisers. He enjoyed his winters in Florida at Lake Bryant RV Park, liked to camp, and adored boat rides with his family and friends. Many referred to him as 'Pa'. He was a devoted family man and will be missed by many. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart. Steve is survived by his children, Paul (Kim) Faber of Rosebush and Rick (Ginger) Faber of Midland; grandchildren, Brenda and Heather Faber of Rosebush and Blake Faber of Midland; Siblings, Judy Battle of Paris, Mi., Sue (Mike Riley) Mahaffey of Lake, Mi., Jim (Sally) Faber of Beal City and Paul (Chris) Faber of Beal City; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both parents; wife Patricia; siblings, Dianne Morris, Joseph Faber, and Joyce Fridline. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Steve at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the St. Joseph Church in Beal City, with a luncheon following at the Eagles in Mt. Pleasant. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with a rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled Americans Veteran Charity (DAV) www.dav.org.
