Steven Letson, 63, of Beaverton OR, and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland OR, after a long illness. A memorial service for Steve will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. His ashes will be interred in North Brinton Cemetery. Steve was born Dec. 21, 1952, in Lakeview, MI, son of the late Dale and Helen (Olger) Letson. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1971 and attended Mid Michigan Community College. On Jan. 31, 1975, he married Charlene Doerr at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved his family and his dogs, and enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at his cabin in Alaska. Steve is survived by his wife of 41 years, Charlene; two children, Sean (Jennifer) Letson and Stephanie (Michael) Greenough, both of Portland, OR; two grandchildren, Elle and Jude Letson; sister, Pamela (Mark) Owen of Mt. Pleasant; nephew, Joel Watson of Wyoming; two nieces, Jamie (Mark) Smith of Mt. Pleasant and Anya Letson of Nashville, MI; and mother-in-law, Lois Doerr of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ted Letson; and step-father, Robert Lehnert.
