Susan Hovey, 71, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016, at her home. Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass for Sue will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, February 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes presiding. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to Mass. Her ashes will be interred in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Commission on Aging, 2200 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant MI 48858. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Sue was born Dec. 3, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Francis Bud and Keitha Kit (McShea) Beltinck. A 1962 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Sue received her nursing certificate and, for a number of years, worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Davis Clinic before retiring from the Mt. Pleasant Center. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing dominoes, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sue is survived by five children, Lauri Hovey of Mt. Pleasant, Steve (Wendy) Hovey of Beal City, Tara (Kevin Franko) Hovey of Clare, Doug Hovey of Mt. Pleasant, and Jeremy (Stephanie) Hovey of Waterford; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, John Robert, Caleb, Madeline, Michael, Jeremy James, and Harper; two siblings, Kenneth Beltinck of Ashburn, VA and Peggy (John) OBrien of Atlanta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
