Terry Harrington, 62, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint after an accidental fall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Rosebush with Father Don Henkes presiding. The family will receive friends at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., on Saturday from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. with the Vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Church or to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Terry was born Oct. 18, 1946, in Toledo, OH, the son of Walter R. and Frances M. (Purcell) Harrington. He graduated from Woodward High School in Toledo in 1964 and went on to receive his Bachelors degree in International Business from the University of Toledo. He married Gail LaVoy on Dec. 26, 1970 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI. They lived in Toledo and Traverse City before moving to Mt. Pleasant in 1978. As a self-employed sales representative, Terry worked for many building materials companies. He was a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the National Frame Builders Association, Knights of Columbus, and GTO Association of America. Some of his favorite pastimes were golfing, woodworking, and attending car shows with his 1931 Model A Ford and 1969 Pontiac GTO. He loved talking to people and had a generous and serving heart. But most of all, he was very proud of his two children. Terry leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Gail of Mt. Pleasant; two children, Patrick (Nicole) Harrington of Rochester, NY and Dawn (Tylan) Morgan of Dayton, OH; two granddaughters, Regan Harrington and Reese Morgan; his brother, Barry (Jo) Harrington of Portland, OR; brother-in-law, William Your of Marion, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
