Teresa M. Hansen, age 57, of Douglas, died Sunday, December 7, 2008, at her home. Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., with the Rev. Ron Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family invites friends for light refreshments at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Teresa was born July 7, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Roderick and Marguerite (McDonald) Rice. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Library Science. She was responsible for starting the first library in Frankenmuth as well as in Birch Run. She was currently employed by the Holland Post Office until she retired due to her illness in 2007. Teresa is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Hansen of Douglas; two children, Bryon (Nicole) Hansen of Hudsonville and Rebecca Hansen and her fiance, Brandon Kury of Fennville; four grandchildren, Colten, Brayden, Sydney, and Amaya; her mother, Marguerite Rice of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, David Rice and Mark (Marcia) Rice both of Mt. Pleasant; her sister, Carol (Larry) Shaw of Elwell; special brothers, Keith Brooks of Midland and Aqualino Mike Soriano of San Diego, CA; her father-in-law, Jack Hansen of Alma; two brothers-in-law, Greg (Pamela) Hansen of Mt. Pleasant and Bradley (Cindy) Hansen of Midland; sister-in-law, Babette (Robert) Rea, of Winfield, IL; and several nieces and nephews.Preceding her in death was her father, Roderick Rice and brothers, Gary and Nicholas Rice.
