Thelma L Smith, age 85, of Vestaburg passed away at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Thelma was born on October 31, 1927 to John L and Hazel E (Wing) Johnson in Alma, MI. She was raised in the Alma area and graduated from Alma High School. She was married to Boneville Smith and he passed away on April 23. 1978. Thelma worked for General Telephone Company as a chief operator and sheretired after 40 years of service. She enjoyed working in her yard, golfing and attending church. She was a member of theChurch of Christ in Vestaburg.

Thelma is survived by her son, Tony (Jackie) Smith of Weidman; grandchildren, Jason and Holly Smith; great-granddaughter, McKenna Smith; and brothers and sisters, Ted, Keith, John, Richard, Phil, Jenny, and Joyce.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Richland Township Cemetery in Vestaburg.
