Theodore J. Chisek, 80, of Mt. Pleasant died Sunday, April 13, 2003 at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Lux Funeral Home with an informal service beginning at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ted was born Dec. 3, 1922, in Saginaw, the son of Michael and Anna (Kulatz) Chisek. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1947 during World War II. He married Julia McNerney on August 6, 1947, in Lansing. He worked at the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center as a supervisor for 24 years, retiring in 1989. He had also worked at McFarlane Dairy and Oldsmobile in Lansing. He was a former choir member at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Shepherd. In his youth he enjoyed track and basketball. He liked walking and completing crossword puzzles. Ted is survived by six children, Terry (Dan) Vanas of Rosebush, Dan (Janene) Chisek of Mt. Pleasant, Martha (Ron) Seelye of Breckenridge, Betty Hertel of Indianapolis, IN, Robert Chisek of Clare, and Ann (Jim) Hire of Rosebush; 14 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Carol Chisek and Elizabeth Ann Chisek; two brothers; and three sisters.
