Theodore Letson, 59, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, after a three year battle with Myelofibrosis. His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. Cremation will follow and his ashes will be interred in North Brinton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the local chapter of the American Red Cross for the blood program. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ted was born May 28, 1950, in Coldwater Township, the son of Dale and Helen (Olger) Letson. A graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in 1968, he attended Ferris University. He retired from General Motors of Lansing after 30 years of dedicated service. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, woodworking, and playing cards. He also enjoyed online cards. He was a member of the Williamston Lions Club. Ted is survived by his daughter, Anya Letson of Nashville, MI; mother, Helen Lehnert of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Steve (Charlene) Letson of Beaverton, OR; sister, Pam (Mark) Owen of Mt. Pleasant; step-brother, Michael (Denise) Lehnert of Michigan; three step-sisters; and nieces and nephews, Sean Letson, Joel Watson, Stephanie Nichols, Jamie Smith, Paige Clarke and Brendan and Erik Lehnert; and several grand nieces and nephews that were like his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale in 1979; and step-father Robert Lehnert in 1997.
