Theopolis Louis Gilmore

Theopolis L. Gilmore, age 83, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his home. Ted was born on November 18, 1933 in Garland, Alabama, the son of Louis and Eva Mae Matthews Gilmore. A memorial service celebrating Teds life will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from the Rowley Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Casey Fulton officiating. The family greeted friends from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the services. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Ted married Susan Ann Schiller on July 8, 1990 at Gesu Church in Detroit. He was a resident of Mt. Pleasant since 1990. Ted was a retired manager of a Goodwill Store and worked in photography for the United States State Department. In the 60s and 70s, His company, Antique Design, manufactured jewelry for J. C. Penny, and Hudsons Department Stores as well as his six retail stores in malls and airports. Ted was a veteran of the US Army during the mid-1950s and was in the Army Band. He enjoyed jazz music and football. Ted is survived by his wife, Susan of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Keith and Bridget Gilmore of Niles; five grandchildren, Keith, Keyontay, Kierre, Grace, and Grant Gilmore and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
