Theresa Ann
Klein
Jun 18, 1947 — Jun 23, 2026
Theresa Ann Klein, 79, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma, just days after celebrating her birthday. She was born on June 18, 1947, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Charles and Helen McConnell.
Theresa lived a life defined by compassion, courage, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. From an early age, she possessed a warm and caring spirit that remained with her throughout her life. She touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need.
On November 15, 1968, Theresa married the love of her life, Richard Klein, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Together they built a loving home and shared nearly 58 years of marriage filled with happiness, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Their greatest joy was raising their three sons, Ken, Ron, and Mark Klein, whom Theresa supported and encouraged throughout their lives.
Theresa was especially proud of her career in healthcare. She earned her lactation consultant and educational licenses and dedicated herself to helping mothers and families through her work at Central Michigan Community Hospital, now known as McLaren Central Michigan. In the 1990s, she fulfilled an entrepreneurial dream by opening a gift shop within the hospital. During that same decade, she appeared in a television commercial promoting maternity services at the hospital, reflecting her passion for supporting families and newborns.
Known for her fearlessness, Theresa never hesitated when someone needed help. One of the many examples of her courage occurred when she witnessed a motorcycle accident. Without hesitation, she administered lifesaving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, helping save the victim's life. Acts of selflessness like this were simply part of who she was.
Theresa found joy in life's simple pleasures and adventures alike. She loved fishing, gardening, feeding squirrels, visiting friends and family, and helping others whenever she could. She enjoyed fast cars and spent many hours alongside Richard helping him paint cars. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where family and friends were treated to her cooking and baking, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
Nothing brought Theresa greater happiness than her family. Her calm wisdom, gentle humor, patience, and unconditional love were the foundation of her family and a source of strength to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Theresa is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Klein of Mt. Pleasant; her sons, Ken (Angie) of Saginaw, Ron Klein of Alachua, Fl, and Mark Klein of High Springs, Fl; and her treasured grandsons, Logan and Joshua Klein.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen McConnell.
Though Theresa's presence will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness, courage, resilience, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her life was a beautiful example of service to others, devotion to family, and living each day with grace and purpose.
