Thessa S. Packard

Thessa Sylvia Packard Tess, 74, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, April 03, 2018, at Woodland Hospice House. Cremation has taken place. In honoring Tesss wishes, a meal will be served and a formal Toast at 7 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Lincoln Reception Center (attached to Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home). The family will receive friends beginning at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Envelopes will be available at the reception. Tess was born November 20, 1943, in Windsor, Canada to Peter Stathakis and Ann Kay (Dulovitz) Ruoff. Tess spent most of her life in South Florida, where she enjoyed the abundant water and sunshine. She moved to Mt. Pleasant to be closer to her family. She felt at home in Mt. Pleasant and made many friends. Tess will be remembered most for her unbridled optimism and contagious smile. Even when things became difficult and the sun was obscured, her positivity and smile remained ever present. Tess made friends easily and it may be said that there were not many people she met that did not quickly take a liking to her. Tess loved her family deeply and was so proud of their accomplishments. She attended her grandchildrens events with clocklike regularity, even as it became increasingly difficult for her to do so. Soccer home-game days will not be the same without seeing her car, optimally parked somewhere for her to watch her grandchildren play. Like the Florida sunshine she loved, the world was a brighter place when Tess was present. Tess is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Mark and Patricia Reilly of Mt Pleasant; her four grandchildren Kayleigh, Sophia and Darwin Reilly of Mt. Pleasant and Zoe Bullock of New York; her Uncle Angelo Stathakis of Windsor and her dear friend, Larry Packard of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents.
