Thomas C. Carmack

Thomas Carl Carmack, Age 56, of Mt. Pleasant, MI passed away at his residence, Thursday Nov. 22nd. Tom was born to Orin and Ethel Carmack (Andersen) on July 5th, 1951 in St. Johns Michigan. Tom graduated from St. Johns High School in 1969. He continued his education, earned an Associates Degree, and was a Licensed Practical Nurse for most of his working life. Tom's life was full of music. He began by playing the drums in his high school marching band. He then taught himself to play both the guitar and the piano. He has written many original songs and his ear for music was so strong that he could play almost anything he heard. He spent his best times entertaining people around a campfire or in a backyard as improvisational entertainment. In 2001 Tom shifted his energy from music to grand-parenting. He was a large part of his four grandsons' lives and decided that it would be his mission to take them to the park, library, parades, and anywhere he thought that they would have a good time. He was truly a great grandparent to them, and was proud that he had accomplished that. He has left hard shoes to fill and his grandsons will miss him dearly. Tom was an avid reader and was once awarded for checking the most books out of his public library in a one-year period. Tom has lived in and visited many parts this country, and enjoyed the fact that he was well traveled and had the opportunity to see more than perhaps others. Tom's kind heart and friendly nature will cause him to be greatly missed by his daughter India Hatt (Carmack), son in law Ben, their four children Griffin(6), Dylan (4), Seth (3), and Cyril (3). He is also survived by daughter Brooke Bradley (Carmack) and her daughters Jessica and Amelia, his brother Richard Carmack (Indianapolis, IN) and sister Christine Baker (Glendale, AZ), nieces, nephews as well as extended family and countless friends that have enjoyed his irreplaceable outlook on life and shown him great support over the years. Tom was preceded in death by his Mother and Father as well as two brothers John and Tony Carmack. Services to remember and celebrate the life of Tom Carmack will be held at Jameson Hall on Thursday November 29th from 1pm to 4pm, located at 5142 Budd St. in Mt. Pleasant.
