Thomas Foster Girvin

Thomas Foster Girvin, 81, of Lake Isabella passed away on January 19, 2022.  He was born on September 24, 1940, in Lansing.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Foster and Dorothy (Marcy) Girvin; and stepdaughter, Angela.  He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joann; sons, Brian and Chris; daughter, Anne; stepsons, Mark, Mathew (Dawn) and Luke Moline; brothers, Richard (Carol), Robert (Carol), Gary, Phillip; sister Cheryl Fronczak; and several great and great nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  After graduating from Lansing Eastern High School in 1959. Tom attended General Motors Technical Institute.  Upon graduation he began work at Oldsmobile/GM as a Product Engineer.  Thru the various re-organizations of Oldsmobile/GM he assumed various management positions ending up as Assistant Chief Engineer of the Powertrain Division of GM.  He retired in 2001 and moved to Lake Isabella.  Tom was an active fourteen-year member of the Weidman Lions Club.  He held various offices and was always willing to help with all fundraising events.  Per Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Weidman, Mi.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weidman Lions Club, envelopes will be available at the church.
