Thomas Tom J. Grubaugh, 64, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015, at McLaren-Central Michigan in Mt. Pleasant with his brother-in-law at his side. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Father Loren Kalinowski officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Patrick cemetery in Shepherd. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Tom was born on November 22, 1950 to the late Dean and Virginia (Bittel) Grubaugh in Alma, MI. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1969 and served in the Marines for a short time. Tom moved to Corpus Christi, TX and married Linda S. Grubaugh on January 25, 1982. They began to raise their family there. He worked as a pipe fitter and later operated his own furniture moving business in Corpus Christi, TX. Tom enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards, watching football and basketball games and, most especially, spending time with his family and friends. Tom is survived by his three children, Thomas (Joanna) Grubaugh of Corpus Christi, TX, Kathryn Grubaugh of San Antonio, TX, and Edward (Yolanda) Arriaga of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Carolina Arriaga, James Arriaga, and Jackson Grubaugh; sister, Kay (David) Gugala of Northville, MI; nephew, Justin (Karen) Gugala of Northville, MI; niece, Lauren Gugala of Chicago, IL; and four great-nieces, Madison, Macy, Mary, and Maggie Gugala. Tom will be dearly missed by all those who love him.
