Thomas Claude Loomis

Thomas Claude Loomis, age 79, of Weidman passed away on March 24, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born on May 31, 1934 to Emmory Arthur and Jennie C (Miller) Loomis in Lakeview, MI. He was raised in the Weidman area. Tom attended Barryton area schools. He worked as a heavy equipment operator. Tom married Phyllis Monette on June 18, 1955 in Grand Rapids. Tom enjoyed going fishing and hunting, playing cards, horseshoes, gardening, and mushroom hunting; he especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis; children, Carol (Kirk) Killian of Weidman, Lori (William) Blenman of Weidman, and Shelley Sutton of Weidman; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his faithful companion King; 1 brother, Pat of Weidman; 2 sisters, Beverly (Williard) Denslow of Weidman and Vernetta Kimball of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicki Cosci; 4 brothers, Keith, Virgil, Charles and Vance and 2 sisters, Thelma Leiter and Myrtle Esterline.

A Celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Fork Township Community Center, Barryton, MI.
