Thomas "Tommy" Painter

Thomas Gary Painter, 22, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011. His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Jeremy Selvidge officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. There will be a special ceremony on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. by the Sigma Chi Fraternity members. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Sigma Chi Fraternity to benefit many philanthropic organizations. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Tommy enjoyed spending time with his friends, running cross country and driving his Jeep. He was always anxious to give anyone a ride because it was a good excuse to drive his Jeep. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity since the spring of 2008. He was also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Mudders. Tommy is survived by his parents, Rogier and Gloria Kuiper of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Brian and Adam Cronkite and Andrew Kuiper all of Mt. Pleasant; grandparents, Roger DeSonia of Mt. Pleasant; Bonnie Elmore of Kentucky; Jelle and Inge Kuiper of the Netherlands; aunts and uncles Roger DeSonia of Kentucky, Ricky and Becky DeSonia of Bellevue; Norma DeSonia of Florida; two nieces, Alex and Riley of Bellevue; and best friends Taylor, Jake, Jordan and Mike.
