Thomas Francis Pung Jr.

Thomas Pung, 52, of Warren, MI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in Petoskey MI.  Tom was born on June 30, 1971, son of Thomas and Gloria (Schafer) Pung in Saginaw, MI.  He graduated with the class of 1989 from Beal City High School.  Continuing his education, Tom received his master's degree from Central Michigan University in Exercise Physiology.  He started working for Professional Orthopedic Rehab in Warren MI, since 2004.  He was very enthusiastic about his work as a Clinical Manger.  Tom was very intelligent and was an avid baseball card collector.  He will be missed by so many.  Tom is survived by his children; Cassidy Pung of New Baltimore, MI and Joseph Pung of Marysville, MI; parents, Thomas and Gloria (Schafer) Pung of Beal City; siblings, Kimberly (Nicholas) Whitehead of Mt. Pleasant, David (Viki) Pung of Dearborn, MI, and Amanda (Curt) Gottschalk of Beal City; one niece and six nephews; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Jeanie Gerhardi. Tom is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Mildred (Tilmann) Schafer; paternal grandparents, Stephen and Rosemary (Engler) Pung; and infant brother, Joseph. Tom's funeral service will be held at Charles R, Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 11 am, with Deacon Jim Damitio officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.  All are invited for a meal immediately following in the Lincoln Reception Center (attached to funeral home).  In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions be made to the Beal City Football Program (checks payable to: Beal City Public Schools).
