Thomas G. Radey, 71, of Jackson and formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Tuesday, February 21, 2006. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, at St. John Catholic Church in Jackson with Father James Shaver presiding. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. A second Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant with Father Robert Byrne presiding. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice or Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Tom was born Oct. 22, 1934 in Mt. Pleasant the son of James and Evelyn (Coughlin) Radey. He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1953 and later received his degree from Ferris State University. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served in Korea. He was a self-employed dental technician for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He was an avid golfer and was founder of the September Fest Golf Charity Outing, which he ran for 17 years. He is the past Governor of the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge and enjoyed traveling and fishing with his grandchildren. Tom is survived by his loving companion of 30 years, Robbin Stuart; two sons, Patrick (Diane) of North Carolina, and Ryan of Ohio; three grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and John Thomas; his sister, Juyne (Thomas) McEvoy of Mt. Pleasant; his brother-in-law, James Theisen of Weidman; special nephews, Dan and James McEvoy; one niece, Sheri (Perry) Fargo; and three nephews, Mark (Lori) Theisen, Alan Davis, and Anthony Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Barbara Theisen.
