Vada M. Fox, 78, of Mt. Pleasant died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 8 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Vada was born June 1, 1926 in Lansing, the daughter of Vernon T. and Louise (Miller) Simmer. She married Harold J. Mutt Fox on Dec. 30, 1947 at Sacred Heart Church. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising her five children after the early death of her husband, Harold. She also took care of her parents in their failing health. Vada was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, cooking, fishing and spending time with her friends at Maplewood. Her life centered around her family who will miss her dearly. Vada is survived by five children, Barbara (Joseph) Barberi of Mt. Pleasant, Richard (Trudy) Fox of Brighton, Bill (Kathy) Fox of Mt. Pleasant, Joseph (Deborah) Fox of Mt. Pleasant, and John (Marnie) Fox of Studio City, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1970; and sister, Dorothy Stahl.
