Vera Frances Barath, 92, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Rochester and Gladwin, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, at Crestwood Village in Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass for Vera will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, October 26, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Shepherd with Father Fred Kawka as celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior Mass. Following the Mass, a luncheon will held at Lincoln Reception Center (attached to Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home). Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the church and funeral home. Vera was born in Calumet, Michigan, on August 29, 1926, the second daughter of Nicholas and Frances (Kayfesh) Badovinac. She graduated from Calumet High School in 1944. She met John J. Barath (of Detroit and formerly of Brownsville, PA) after his return from the war. The couple was married in Detroit on September 12, 1946 and moved to Rochester in 1955 where they raised their three children. Vera enjoyed a successful career in real estate in the Rochester and Gladwin areas before moving to Sugar Springs. For the past two years Vera has resided at Crestwood Village where she very much enjoyed daily life, the friendly staff, and her fellow residents. Vera is survived by her three children, James (Sandra) Barath of Monterey, CA, Patricia (William) Daniels of Mt. Pleasant, and Marie Castle-Good (Richard Good) of North Granby, CT; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Barath, Brian Barath, Matthew Daniels, and Brian Daniels; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Barath; and sister, Mary Maczinski.
