Veronica A. Bigos, 70, of Dearborn Heights, died Saturday, May 4, 2002 at the Westland Convalescent Center in Westland. Her funeral mass will be held at noon on Thursday, May 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the mass begins. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pardee Cancer Center or the family. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Lux Funeral Home. Veronica was born January 18, 1932, in Monroe, the daughter of E. Gerald and Jean A. (Laird) Malone. She spent her entire life in the Detroit area where she retired from Carhartt Corporation after 22 years. Veronica was known to have a heart as big as she was. Veronica is survived by her son, Alan (Angela) Bigos of Riverside, CA; brothers, Fred (Kathy) Malone of Allen Park, Michael Patrick Malone of Holliday, TX; sisters, Molly Pittsley of Mt. Pleasant, Mary (Fred) Porman of Livonia, and Julia (Leo) Aretha of Roseville; and many nieces and nephews, including Lorraine (Strauss) Malone of Griffith, IN, formerly of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Malone; and brother-in-law, Hazen Pittsley.
