Victor Boge, 92, of Beal City passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at Country Place Senior Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass for Victor will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 2, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father Ricky Varner as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with a luncheon to conclude at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. The family will receive friends in the gathering room of the church on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church or School. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Victor was born July 23, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Henry and Pauline (Schafer) Boge. He married Donna Recker on June 4, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. Victor was employed by Dow Chemical as a fork lift operator. He also enjoyed farming, reading, and traveling. He loved eating and often visited McDonalds. One of his favorite quotes was No Sunday dinner is complete until youve got meat, mashed potatoes and gravy; vegetables are a necessary evil. Victor dearly loved his family, especially his wife Donna. Victor is survived by four children, Mary Boge of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Boge of Ithaca, Sandra Boge of Beal City and Brian (Sandy) Boge of Beal City; daughter-in-law, Janet Boge of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Melissa, Carrie, Mandy, Kattie, Joshua, Kristopher, and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Rosie, Mari, Phoebe, Merek, Charlie, Henry, and William; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Pauline Boge; wife, Donna; four children, Linda Boge, Ronald Boge, Vickie Boge and Terrie Boge; and siblings, Clara Rose, Henrietta Schmidt, Leona Pasch, Edna Davis, Marian Trager, Albina Rau, Eleanor Weber, Joe Boge and John Boge. The Boge Family extends a heart-felt thank you to the staff at Country Place for the wonderful and compassionate care that was shown to Victor.
