Viola M. Sheahan, 88, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Livonia, passed away Thusday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David Jenuwine presiding. Burial will be in St. Henry Cemetery in Rosebush. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. with Vigil at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Viola was born June 18, 1921, in Isabella County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Pohl) Quillen. She married Howard Sheahan on Aug. 27, 1946, at Sacred Heart. She worked for various companies including Bell Telephone Company, Briggs Manufacturing as a secretary, and as a telephone operator for both Sears and Robuck and American Motors. She retired in 1983 from Suburban Answering Service in Farmington Hills. Viola is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Ann Sheahan of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, John Quillen of Battle Creek and James Quillen of Pewamo; one sister, Marilyn Quillen of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law, William Spencer of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in 2001; five sisters, Rose Ellen DeShane, Colleen Spencer, Mildred Quillen, Stella Parker, and Agnes Evans; two brothers, Joseph Martin Quillen and Patrick Quillen.
