Violet Walinda Green

Violet Green, 65, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019, at home, with her family by her side. She was born February 7, 1954, in Boyne City, Michigan, daughter of the late James Floyd and Annie Lena (Luchene) Green. She attended school in Grand Rapids and moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1997. She was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians of Michigan. She was a huge Elvis fan. Some of her favorite pastimes were riding motorcycles, dancing, and more than anything, being with her grandchildren. Violet is survived by two children, Augustine Green of Lansing and Luisa Ann Green of Mt. Pleasant; son in-law Ronald Johansen of Mt. Pleasant; 13 grandchildren, Augie, Austria, Annaleana, Austin, and Khalesi, Alicia, Antonio, Angelica, Esperanza, Anthony, and Jessie, and Patricia and Joseph; 17 great grandchildren; seven siblings, Albert Smith of California, Martha Edgar of California, Grace Ann of California, Donna Willems of Florida, Mary (Sylvester) Green-Mott of Mt. Pleasant, James Floyd Green Jr. of Oil City and William Thomas Green of Manistee; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Margarita Johansen; four siblings, Joanne Green, Helen Green, Anna Roney, and Laura Sumpter. Violets funeral will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Friday, November 1, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Pego officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow and her ashes will be interred in Denver Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to her granddaughter, Angelica Green. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
