Warren John Nugent

Warren Nugent, 69, of Beal City passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.  Warren was born on November 22, 1953, son of the late John and Dorothy (Stirrett) Nugent, in Bad Axe, MI.  He graduated from Ubly High School with the class of 1971.  Warren continued his education at Central Michigan University in Mt Pleasant, graduating with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts.  Warren married Mary Jane Mathers on April 7, 1979, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He worked for UPS (United Parcel Service) for more than 35 years.  For many years he managed the Air Freight in Lansing.  Warren was very active with his children's events.  Rarely did he miss a track meet, cross country race, basketball game or volleyball game.  He would often be found helping with the hurdles or as a line judge. He also coached high school baseball.  Warren enjoyed traveling with Mary to a variety of music concerts.  He was also very handy around the house and liked to discuss with family members his newest project.  He will be greatly missed by so many.  He is survived by his daughter, Kellie (Joshua) Kuipers; and siblings, Jerry (Diane) Nugent, and Elrae Herp.  He was preceded in death by both parents; wife Mary Jane in June 2023; son, Jonathan Warren Nugent; and sister, Judy Glaza. A funeral service celebrating Warren's life will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Deacon Jim Damitio officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Following the service all are invited to a luncheon in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home).
