Willard Seeley, 86, of Shepherd, Michigan, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 1, 2022, after complications of his diabetes. He was born March 28, 1935, in Midland County, Michigan, son of the late Earl and Maude (Anthony) Seeley. A 1953 graduate of Shepherd High School, Willard enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956. His marriage to Joyce M. Neff on August 8, 1959, was blessed with the births of three children: Greg, Todd, and Karen. Willard provided for his family through years of hard work. He was employed by Alma Products and, later, by the City of Mount Pleasant Water Department. In addition, Willard farmed his own land for many years. He enjoyed all kinds of sports often participating in softball for many years and officiating football and baseball games. His favorite pastimes were working on the farm and, of course, spending time with his loving family. He and Joyce attended Countryside United Methodist Church for over 60 years. Willard leaves behind his wife, Joyce; three children and their spouses, Greg and Tammy Seeley of Lake Isabella, Todd and Michelle Seeley of Shepherd, and Karen and Emmett Purtill of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren, Craig Seeley, Matt (Katelyn) Seeley, Cassie Purtill, Katie (Ryan) Schutt, and Corey (Marisa) Purtill; seven great grandchildren, Macy, MaKayla, Kayleigh, Isaac, Kaden, MeKahna, and Luciana; four siblings, Doris Lytle of White Pigeon, Barb (Hurshel) Wilder of Sturgis, and David (Lori) Seeley and Earlene Artecki, both of Shepherd; brother in-law, Jerry (Sharon) McCaul of Shepherd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
