William C. "Bill" Theisen, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Green Acres Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant. William was the fourth of nine children and was born July 1, 1941, in Mt. Pleasant. His parents were Clarence and Lena (Olger) Theisen. After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy in 1960, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving four years on the U.S.S. Saratoga, stationed in Mayport and Jacksonville, FL. After his honorable discharge, he began working for General Motors (Oldsmobile) in Lansing. On May 27, 1967, Bill married the love of his life, Joyce Bourland, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Deborah and Angela. That same year, he took a job at Central Michigan University as an air conditioning and refrigeration technician, retiring after 30 years. He and Joyce moved to Mullett Lake where they would spend the next 25 years boating, fishing, and hunting. In retirement he worked part-time for Milan Supply in Indian River. In 2017 they returned to Mt. Pleasant to be closer to family. Bill is survived by his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Deborah (Randy) Stack of Oil City and Angela (Mark) Everingham of Indian River; four grandchildren, Cody (Drew Rose) Everingham, Cameron Everingham, Robert (Sanne) Stack and Megan Stack; siblings, Phyllis Ahlers of Mt. Pleasant, Eugene Theisen of Mt. Pleasant, Rita (Bruce) Cline of Marshall, Pauline (Steve) Thomas of Laingsburg, and Patrick (Sue) Theisen of DeWitt; sister in-law, Brenda Theisen of Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lena Mae Theisen; siblings, Mary Sproule, Jack Theisen and Thomas Theisen; brothers in-law, Henry Ahlers and Robert Sproule; and sisters in-law, Nancy Theisen and Janet Theisen. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home) at 11 am, with Father Loren Kalinowski officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. Bill's ashes will be interred at Calvary Cemetery in a private family service. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or Parkinson's Foundation (www.Parkinson.org).
