William DuHamel, 87, life resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Monday, April 16, from 1-3 p.m. A procession to Calvary Cemetery will follow, where a committal service and military honors will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Bill was born September 14, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Louis F. and Theresa A. (Scully) DuHamel. He was baptized at Sacred Heart on September 21, 1924 where he was a lifelong member. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 and served during World War II. He was employed by CMU as a custodian for 25 years, retiring in 1988. Prior to that, he had worked for his parents at DuHamels Food Market for 17 years. Bill is survived by two nieces, Mary Trejo and Ann Frost; and three nephews, Steve Frost, Edward Frost and Joe Frost. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis (1969) and Theresa (1970); and his sister, Mary Frost.
