William Lavern Keiser

William Keiser, aged 68, of Shepherd, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at his residence. Born on June 19, 1956, in Cheboygan, Michigan, he was the son of the late Lyle Lavern and Leona Myrtle (Kirkpatrick) Keiser. William graduated from Shepherd High School in 1974 and went on to serve his country with distinction. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving four years, and later re-enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served an additional eight years. After his military service, William worked as a custodian for Shepherd Public School. He was a humble man who enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family. William is survived by his siblings, Carol (Jerry) Vedrode of Cross Village, Lyle (Kim) Keiser of Cheboygan, Deb Donze (Steve) of Grand Rapids, and Gerald Keiser of Mt. Pleasant, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Brenda Keiser in 2018. Cremation has taken place, and his ashes will be interred in Bliss Cemetery in Emmet County.
