William Morrish, 87, of Gladwin and formerly of Clio, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at Woodland Hospice. Cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant, on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. No formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice, 2597 S. Meridian Rd., Mt. Pleasant MI 48858. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. William was born Jan. 9, 1923, in Flint, the son of the late J. Wesley and Valley (Richards) Morrish. A graduate of Clio High School in 1941, Bill enlisted in Navy Flight School in 1942 in Corpus Christi and graduated as a commissioned officer and pilot in 1944. He married Luella Wright within weeks of his graduation. They moved back to Michigan where he graduated from Flint Junior College in 1947 with an Associates Degree. After moving to Oregon, he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon in 1949. From 1960-1971 he was employed as a controller at A.P. Engelhart Company in Flint. In 1971 he co-founded Quality Pool Supply Company, retiring in 1988. Bill is survived by his daughter Chris (Jim) Engler of Mt. Pleasant; and son, Brad Morrish of Farwell; four grandchildren, Erin Engler and J.J. Engler, and Josh Morrish and Jessie (Travis) Povey; two great-grandchildren, Alanis and Cademan.
