William Jay Quinlan

William "Bill" Jay Quinlan, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on April 11, 2024. He was   born on February 3, 1936, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, to the late John and Leona (Breuer) Quinlan. Bill, a gregarious and personable man,  proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 to 1964. He attended Sacred Heart Academy for high school and went on to earn his B.A. at the University of Notre Dame. An avid golfer, euchre enthusiast, life-long gardener, rose aficionado and expert, Bill had a passion for life that brought joy. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Eleanor Myers (Pearsall) Quinlan; children, Terrance (Alice) Quinlan, Matthew (Lori) Quinlan, Erin (Peter) O'Brien, Molly (Michael) Williamson; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; three stepchildren, Chari Oswall, David (Donna) Myers, and Michele (Bill) Baker; sister-in-law's Patricia Quinlan, Virginia McQuaid and Racilla Ryon; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Leona Quinlan; brothers Harry and Patrick; sister-in-law, Mary; and brother-in-law, Fred McQuaid. Cremation has taken place at Memorial Fields Crematory and he will be interred at Calvary Cemetery, with a memorial service on July 25th at 1:00 pm. Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Athletic Association or Heartland Hospice.
