William Ralph Weaver

Bill Weaver, 91, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Woodland Hospice in Mt. Pleasant.  Bill was born on April 5, 1929 in Armada, Mi., son of the late Ralph and Cloe (Batey) Weaver.  He received a degree in Education from Hillsdale College and then a Masters in Guidance and Personnel from MSU in 1962.  Bill married his first wife Elizabeth Galloway and together they had two children.  He enlisted in the Army for two years during the Korean War.  Bill took pride in his counseling in the intermediate school district, in the Cadillac area. He also spent time in Alaska as a crisis counselor. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and training his dogs.  He belonged to the American Legion, Elks Club and was past president of the East Tennessee Retriever Club.  He was also a Master Dog Trainer.  Bill is survived by his wife of 43 years, Frances (Bradshaw) Weaver; children, Dr. Cindy (Richard) Bragg of Reading, Mi and Thad (Laura) Weaver of Hastings, Mi.; stepchildren, Charles (Julie) Draper of Lewiston, Mi and Lonnie (Dean) McDuff of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Wayne (Beverly Brief) Weaver of Albion, Mi.; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Tom Weaver and Jeanette Beam.  Per Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services set at this time.
