Winifred G. Steinbaugh, 98, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Pontiac died Tuesday, June 12, 2007. She was born in Chicago in 1908, the only child of the late Fred and Lillian (Parsons) Record. She was the devoted wife of the late Harold Steinbaugh for 56 years; beloved mother of Susan (Joseph) Faassen of Chadds Ford, PA and Cathy (Gino) Fracasso of West Bloomfield; loving grandmother of Cindy (Brian) Sloyer of Oldsmar, FL, Craig Faassen of Tampa, FL, David (Julie) Fracasso of Rochester Hills, and Michael Fracasso of Warren; and great-grandmother of Devan, Chase, Ethan, and Alyssa. Winifred graduated from the University of Wisconsin where she met her husband Harold Steinbaugh, a Pontiac native. They returned to Pontiac in 1937 where her husband was employed by General Motors Truck and Coach. Winifred was a lifetime member of All Saints Episcopal Church of Pontiac where she happily volunteered her time and talents. She was also a loyal sister of Chi Omega sorority. Her passions in life included her family, her many beloved pets over the years, gardening, reading, and playing Bridge. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. A private family service has been held with interment at White Chapel in Troy.
